MELISSA SHEKINAH

Melissa Shekinah Wong | B.1987 Malaysia
Melissa Shekinah Wong (Malaysia) is a self-taught contemporary artist whose practice is rooted in love as the point of beginning — a symbolic badge that marks the opening of her artistic journey. Initiated in 2023, But First, Love. is not merely a thematic project, but an artistic declaration of love as belief, origin, and intention.
Her practice later evolved toward semi-abstract expression, focusing on nature, healing, and the flow of energy. A six-month residency in New Zealand in 2024 deepened her immersion in the natural world and shaped an intuitive, subconscious-led creative process, where nature is regarded as a source of healing and transformation.
In 2026, she is preparing a new body of work inspired by the natural landscapes of her hometown, continuing her exploration of land, memory, and life energy.
Through color and form, her works invite viewers into a quiet, reflective space — reconnecting with the self, nature, and the energy of life.
She lives and works in Malaysia.

Melissa Shekinah Wong
